Making a Deal with Pazuzu ~ Pact with the Lord of the Winds, King of Evil Wind Demons ~ Custom Black Magick Spell Work Ritual for Difficult Situations ~ Protection, Love, Revenge & Beyond ~ Drive Out Greater Evils ~ Send the Ill Wind to Your Enemies

Pact with the Lord of the Winds

Some situations are too heavy for gentle work. The enemy is stronger than you, the storm has gone on too long, and patient prayers have not moved a thing. For more than twenty-seven hundred years, people in that position have turned to Pazuzu, the ancient king of the evil wind demons. He is a malevolent being, and no one has ever pretended otherwise. Yet he is known for granting miraculous aid to those who seek his favor, and for driving off evils even worse than himself.

This is an intensive casting dealing with Pazuzu, one of the oldest and most powerful demons known. I act as the intermediary who makes the deal with him and fulfills it on your behalf. It is meant for DIFFICULT situations involving protection, love, revenge, and beyond.

Who is Pazuzu

Pazuzu comes from ancient Assyria and Babylonia, in what is now Iraq. His images suddenly appear in large numbers in the late 700s BC, and he stayed popular for centuries afterward. The old texts call him the son of the god Hanbi (also written Hanpa) and the king of the lilû, the evil spirits of the wind. Where his wind blew, it was believed to bring ruin to fields, herds, and people, and to carry sickness and epidemics on the air.

Many books call him the hot southwest wind of summer, but that idea grew out of a misreading of an ancient text back in 1874. Scholars today connect him to a cold, wintry wind out of the northeast, the kind that rushed down from the Zagros Mountains and was believed to bring illness.

He is easy to recognize. He has a square, snarling face with canine jaws and bared teeth, round bulging eyes under heavy brows, horns, and a short beard. His body is lean and scaly, with clawed hands, the talons of a bird of prey for feet, two pairs of wings, and the stinging tail of a scorpion. Even his manhood ends in a serpent’s head. His right hand is usually raised, ready to strike. Scholars believe the power of his face was inherited from Humbaba, the monstrous guardian of the Cedar Forest in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

His most famous portrait is a small bronze statue, about six inches tall, now on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. It was made in Assyria sometime between about 900 and 600 BC, with a loop on top of his head so it could be hung. Cuneiform writing covers his back, and in it he speaks in his own voice. The Louvre gives it this way: “I am Pazuzu, son of Hanpa, king of the evil spirits of the air, who bursts violently out of the mountains in a rage. That is me.”

Today most people know his name from William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel The Exorcist and the 1973 film. The movie opens at an archaeological dig in northern Iraq, where Father Merrin uncovers a small carving of the demon and then comes face to face with his towering statue. Those opening scenes were filmed among the ancient ruins of Hatra, about fifty miles southwest of Mosul. That is how a wind demon from ancient Mesopotamia became one of the most famous faces in horror.

The demon who protects

Here is the twist that makes Pazuzu so powerful. The Assyrians and Babylonians feared another demon even more: Lamashtu, the daughter of the sky god Anu. She was cast out of heaven and roamed the earth attacking pregnant women, mothers, and newborn babies. To stop her, people called on Pazuzu. As king of the demons, he had the power to command them and keep them from doing harm. On protective plaques, he is shown driving Lamashtu back down to the underworld. More than sixty of those plaques survive, and many of them show Pazuzu at work.

So families did something remarkable. They fastened Pazuzu heads to the furniture in the bedroom and set his statues in the house to keep evil from coming in. Pregnant women wore small Pazuzu heads around their necks, hung so that his glaring face pointed outward, toward whatever danger was coming. They fought evil with a greater evil, and the greater evil stood on their side.

His face became so popular that it was made in quantity. In his 2002 study, the scholar Nils Heeßel catalogued 164 images of Pazuzu, in bronze, gold, stone, clay, bone, and glazed faience, and clay molds for casting his head prove they were mass-produced. They have turned up from Iran to the Greek island of Samos and the land of Israel. One necklace from the royal tombs of the Assyrian queens at Nimrud, buried in the late 700s BC, carries fifteen little Pazuzu heads and three tiny Pazuzu figures.

Pazuzu at a glance

• Who he is: Pazuzu, king of the lilû, the evil spirits of the wind

• Family: son of the god Hanbi, also written Hanpa

• Homeland: ancient Assyria and Babylonia, in what is now Iraq, from the late 700s BC onward

• Domain: the destructive wind, sickness carried on the air, and command over lesser demons

• His wind: a fierce, cold wind out of the northeast and the mountains (older books say the hot southwest wind)

• His look: snarling canine face, bulging eyes, horns, four wings, scaly body, talons, scorpion tail, and a serpent-headed manhood

• His pose: right hand raised to strike

• His great enemy: Lamashtu, the demoness who threatened mothers and babies

• His symbols: his head and glaring face, wings, the scorpion’s tail, wind, dust, and storm

• Known for: power over other demons, guarding mothers, babies, and the home, and turning a greater evil against a lesser one

• His nature: malevolent, proud, and fiercely powerful, yet a formidable guardian once he is on your side

Ways Pazuzu can be called on for good

• Protection for mothers, babies, and the home, because guarding them from Lamashtu was his most famous work for centuries

• Driving off an enemy stronger than you, because he is the king of demons, the one people called when the evil was too big for anything else

• Turning an ill wind of bad luck around, because he rules the wind and can change which way it blows

• Blowing away blockages and stuck situations, because his wind moves what will not move

• Breaking fevers of obsession, worry, and torment, because he was called against the sickness that rode on the air

• Protection from curses, the evil eye, and spiritual attack, because his glaring face was worn pointing outward to turn evil back

• Love under attack, because he guarded the bedroom and the family from whatever tried to get in

• Career storms, because he stands his ground against bullies, saboteurs, and anyone trying to push you out

• Legal battles and paperwork wars, because sheer force and intimidation are his nature, and opponents tend to give way

• Guarding a home or business from intruders and unwanted influences, because his statues were set in houses to keep evil from entering

• Clearing a heavy, sick atmosphere from a home after illness, conflict, or loss, because he sweeps out lesser spirits

• Strength in a crisis when everything hits at once, because he is at his best in the middle of a storm

Ways Pazuzu can be called on for darker ends

These are the things people have traditionally sought from him when the situation called for it:

• Sending an ill wind to an enemy, because his wind was believed to bring ruin wherever it blew

• Scattering a rival’s plans, because wind scatters whatever has been gathered

• Revenge and justice when someone has done real harm, because a demon king answers harm with force

• Breaking up interference around a relationship, because he commands lesser spirits and can drive a meddler out

• Making someone feel the heat of what they have done, because his wind was feared for the restless sickness it carried

• Stopping a person who will not back off, because he forced even Lamashtu back to the underworld

• Turning malice back on the one who sent it, because his gaze was always aimed outward at the danger

• Shaking loose an enemy’s grip on money, property, or power, because no one holds anything tightly in a storm

This spell may be for you if you have been dealing with:

• A neighbor who has made your life miserable for years and will not stop

• An ex who keeps dragging you back to court over every little thing

• A custody battle where the other side plays dirty and lies with a straight face

• A boss who has decided to push you out and is quietly building a paper trail

• A coworker who takes credit for your work and undermines you behind your back

• A landlord trying to force you out or keep a deposit that is yours

• A relative who is taking money or property from an elderly parent

• A business partner who drained the account and left you holding the debt

• Someone spreading lies about you online, at church, or around town

• A meddler working to come between you and the one you love

• A feeling that someone has put a curse or the evil eye on you or your home

• A pregnancy you are anxious to protect, or a new baby you want shielded

• A home that feels heavy, with nightmares, arguments, and one thing after another going wrong

• A string of disasters all at once: the car, the job, the bills, the bad news

• A collector, agency, or company that will not listen no matter how many times you call

• An enemy with more money, more connections, and more power than you

• Someone who hurt you badly and has never faced a single consequence

• A situation you have tried everything on, where nothing has moved

Unexpected benefits and Ways This Spell can help you

• Sudden movement in a case or situation that has been frozen for months

• An enemy who backs off, goes quiet, or moves out of your life

• A meddler who loses interest, so the interference finally stops

• A new wave of courage and a harder backbone when you have to face someone

• A calmer home, with fewer nightmares and less of that heavy, watched feeling

• Luck changing direction, as if the wind turned at your back

• Protection you can feel around your home, your partner, and your children

• Decisions, rulings, and paperwork finally landing your way

• The truth about someone coming out into the open

• People who looked down on you starting to treat you with respect, even a little fear

• A clean slate after a long season of storms

Ask yourself

• Who or what has been battering my life like a storm that will not pass?

• Is my enemy stronger than I am, and am I tired of losing to them?

• Have gentle prayers and patience gotten me anywhere this time?

• What would I ask for if I knew a king of demons was listening?

• Who in my home most needs protection right now?

• Can I say exactly what I want, clearly, in just a few words?

• What would my life look like if the wind finally turned in my favor?

A little science

Ancient people blamed sickness on a demon riding the wind. Modern science has found that some winds really do travel with disease. Across Africa’s Sahel, the dry season brings the Harmattan, a dry, dusty wind that blows out of the Sahara from the northeast, the same direction scholars now give to Pazuzu’s wind. Meningitis outbreaks rise during that dusty season and usually fade when the rains come. In a 2014 study in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, Carlos Pérez García-Pando and colleagues found that wind strength and dust levels early in the season helped predict how bad the meningitis season would be in Niger. Researchers believe the dry, dusty air may irritate the throat and weaken the body’s natural defenses. The old fear of a sickness-bearing wind was not so far-fetched after all.

Signs this work may be starting to move

• Sudden gusts of wind on a still day, or a door slamming on its own

• Dust devils, whirlwinds, or leaves spinning in circles near you

• A dog barking or growling at nothing in an empty corner

• Grasshoppers, locusts, or other winged insects turning up in odd places

• A sudden hot, dry spell, or a cold wind out of nowhere

• Dreams of wings, deserts, storms, or a winged figure with one hand raised

• Things shifting fast: calls, news, and decisions all arriving at once

• Your enemy suddenly distracted, unsettled, or backing away

• The feeling of a powerful presence standing behind you, facing outward
